About

Hi, I’m Marie Rayma.
I’m really passionate about creating stuff—everything from branding to hand-bound books to historical costumes to soap.
I have a Bachelor of Design Honours from York University & Sheridan College (YSDN), and I’ve been working professionally as a graphic designer since 2011. I’ve worked both in-house and freelance, with clients big and small. I do a lot of work with WordPress and Shopify, as well as branding and business cards; check out my design and photography work to see a selection of what I’ve been doing lately.
I also run a blog and YouTube channel called Humblebee & Me, where I make all kinds of handmade cosmetics and skin care products, and share recipes and how-to guides. My first book, Make it Up: The Essential Guide to DIY Makeup and Skin Care, By Marie Rayma, creator of HumblebeeandMe.com was released in December 2016 by Running Press and is available from booksellers all over the world.
Some Random Marie Facts
- I accidentally made 10L of split pea soup in my first year of university and ate it all in less than two months. Yes, I’m still sick of it.
- I used to be in show choir and once cut my forehead with my thumbnail while dancing to Shakira in front of an audience of senior citizens in a church in Scotland. Fortunately the blood matched my red sequinned dress.
- I have a tattoo of an ampersand (Clifford, if you’re wondering which typeface)
- I do a mean impression of Stitch from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch
